If this system has a still strong closed circulation after going after the Yucatan, then I don't see any reason that this doesn't have a chance to bomb out to at least a Cat. 3.

12z ECMWF has 14L as a hurricane in the Gulf.

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.

Euro has it at 998mb approaching the Galveston area. This is why the earlier NHC forecast showed this I guess.

So if I'm reading all the different models correctly, this should make landfall somewhere in between Corpus Christi and New Orleans as either a strong TS to a Strong Cat 1.

What is the heading on the Euro when it is in the center of the Gulf? I can't see any images hosted on imgur thanks to firewalls at my work. The Euro hasn't wanted to develop anything so this is an interesting turn of events for them. And where is 13? Poof again?

Edit: I see that it is heading toward Galveston. I see it also weakens quite a bit from when it was at 987mb. So it isn't too excited about this one but more so than anything of late.

No poof, a tropical storm heading to Galveston/Houston at 120 hours on the Euro.

I was talking about 13. I don't see that one on the one image that is showing up for me. All I see is 14 in the center of the Gulf at 987mb and 13 no where to be found.

I have a firewall at work too but tropical tidbits still loads if you try that website but it's headed to Houston as well.

Euro inland on Wednesday, south of Galveston. Can't see the strength, maybe someone else can fill in that blank.
