How about that Hurricane Watch for parts of the FL East Coast.
Money
They had do it, might even get expanded southwards. The money point was the cost of a hurricane watch/warning is significantly higher than TS. Lets hope damage is minimal and they can manage to keep covid form spreading in shelters.

Is about saving lives, not money, when Watches and Warnings are placed.

It's going to be a cluster if they throw up watches.

I have a feeling the ridging might be stronger than intended and we might be seeing a strong TS/Cat 1 conditions here in NE Broward.

(Not a forecast)

I do as well. I am closing my shutters regardless. It is good practice and if something does happen to your home that could have been prevented with shutters then, the insurance company will not pay you if you didn't use your shutters.

I use Foreflight to input the NHC track coordinates to get a closer look. Here is the 11am:

As always, for Miami-FTL, this'll come down to where it is in relation to Andros early tomorrow morning. Any minor tweaks to the cone, if it follows the left side, could allow it to slide underneath Andros. I feel like in reality, this rarely ends up being as close a call as people want to think.

Maybe, but Isaias doesn't stop with this WNW motion he will likely move over Florida peninsula and that turn might be inland over the SE CONUS.

I am wondering the same up the road in Boca. I'm leaning towards just tying up good.

Do it today unless you want to take the risk of gusty winds and occasional rain bands tomorrow.

West shifts are concerning, and if it does intensify and the neighborhood goes full freak out I might not be able to get out of the canal tomorrow morning.

They have not issued any Hurricane watches for Broward County yet, just from Palm Beach going up. I wonder if with the next advisory, if it continues to shift west, will we see that. Also what are your thoughts for the Central to Northern Broward area. Do you think there will be any impacts based on what you see now?

As soon as I was convinced this was off the coast and we are sucking cirrus the W trend started. I along with many others on here apparently never learn anything. Hurricane Watch on the Treasure Coast. More changes on deck I'm sure.

Deerfield Beach is Broward County... under a Hurricane Watch.

Orlando TV Mets that last night were pretty much calling the all clear for FL last night now their voice is shaking showing the forecast track that has shifted west and reluctant to show the latest GFS run or 06z Euro run.

My parents are in Cocoa Beach. Based on the latest GFS run, I told them to expect similar conditions to Erin in '95, where we had near hurricane conditions...it was also the first storm I truly experienced.

They will board up today, my dad went storm shopping yesterday so they should be well prepared.

Yeah if it shifts significantly more west they'll extend those watches into Broward and Miami Dade counties. As far as impacts, we don't know yet. Broward could get anything from a light breeze to cat 2 hurricane conditions.

Northern Broward is most at risk (in Broward County)... Im in the NW Broward suburbs, if models continue to trend west the watches will be spread, and we might even be upgraded from a TS warning to a Hurricane watch... all depends on the trends.
