Looks like recon is leaving Eta early, after only fix... I wonder if they had troubles after encountering the ongoing strong convective burst.

Terrible satellite presentation tonight from Eta.... Let’s see if that turns around after Cuba.

Kat
It was anticipated due to dry air, but as other have mentioned, I am impressed with the blow up of storms considering, it is suppose to be struggling

Thank you for posting!
I’ve seen the question of shutters forever with answers ranging from Hurricane Watch to Hurricane Warning.
Good to see an “mph” put on it.

Well being in Key Largo needed to make a decision early, since they are not to difficult to do they are closed.

Satellite presentation yes, but IR tells a different story.

Actually looks more impressive than earlier today. Seems to have found a sweet spot with lower shear just south of Cuba. Nice convective burst.

00z Models shifted way south track will likely shift south away from FL peninsula. Expansion of winds will still be there tomorrow but direct impacts if models keep trending south look doubtful.

South Floridians...got your sandbags and canoes ready? May have 2-3 days of torrential downpours.

I guess that's why you don't bet against the Euro.

I no longer fear hurricane season. at all. And there's lots of us like that. at this point the burden of proof is on the storm and it has a high hurdle to jump. Show me an eye on approach...unless and until then...the panic-o-meter is registering very low..
Same. We survived Irma, we’ll survive Eta.

I wouldn’t be betting on a model to begin with that performed horribly all season.

That’s not necessarily a good thing in the long term...

Re: ATL: ETA - Tropical Storm - Discussion

Does Eta have a surprise for us? Probably just convection expanding but maybe an east wobble??
