Great to see two planes flying to this monster cane. The P-3 and AF are in the air.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

NHC's forecast peak intensity on this advisory is 115 kt ... I bet it's already stronger than that.

Officially a major hurricane. 105 knots, predicted to peak at Cat 4.

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.

That’s only 10 kts more- likely way underdone.

I would be shocked if Recon doesn't find a legitimate cat 4.

NHC admitting their being conservative with 105 KTS.

The only thing I see on satellite that’s keeping this from being stronger right now is the browns on ir satellite not wrapping all the way around, but if that happens this could get really intense

The 11am position still puts Teddy within the MDR at 19.2N or so - meaning Teddy is our first MDR major this year. I’m willing to bet 12z will be revised to 100 kt as well.

When the red shades fully wrap around the eye it should get to T6.5-7.0 easily.

I am in no way a professional. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I could be totally wrong. Please refer to the NHC, NWS, or SPC for official information.

We're getting a SW to NE pass from the NOAA plane.
