Dang! This storm didn't play around. We were getting very intense rain about an hour to half an hour ago. Still coming down strong but it's subsided a bit now, we have a flash flood warning though. I wonder if the worst is over at this point since this storm is moving so fast. There were a bunch of tornado warnings around the area which was pretty freaky, those are not common around here.

I got hit by this tornado. Neighbor's big willow tree went down. It was a wall of rain and wind in a circular fashion, so I think I was basically right under this.
Woah! Glad you are okay and I hope other than the tree the property damage was minimal! I was seeing the reports of Tornado warnings in southern NCC and near the MD border. Crazy, crazy stuff...

Communicated with my brother this morning who rode it out on Sunset Beach, NC. Amazingly they never lost power. He said being in the eye was a surreal experience (I think that's his first time) ... lots of debris and beach erosion there ... some damage from sound-side flooding. And he also said that the backside winds (northwest, offshore) were worse than the onshore winds as the hurricane approached and got close.

I'm interested to see what happens on Long Island where Ry and everyone up that way is. Looks almost like they'll only see that right feeder band because the south side is pretty devoid of anything but rushing air. Possibly just west of there will continue to get the tornado threats though certainly that band could produce a few as it comes up and east of there.

Is there typically a map showing an accurate path of the eye's travel after a storm?
Would be really curious to see where it went on it's trip through NC.

I'm not a meteorologist, I'm an electronics engineer. While I can probably fix your toaster oven, you're not going to learn about storms from me!
New Mexico had no hurricanes. Then I moved to NC right before Fran.....

Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.

Also center looks to be just over Delaware Bay. It got really close to the ocean. You don't wonder if this was slower moving (which would have been immensely more destructive in Isaias case) if it might not have had a little time to re-energize. It never got far off the coast which is why it was able to keep firing off extreme weather to its north and northeast.

Wind is picking up here in western Nassau county. I’m watching that band...

Band of very intense cells offshore is headed that way in a couple hours, definitely ominous

Looked like a rotating storm went over the city about 20 minutes ago, but nothing on cc and no warning

The rain has slowed down a lot here and it looks like the strong weather has moved to the north. The center is moving east of me it looks like.
There was a lot of flooding around here and in south-eastern PA. My girlfriends street had a flash flood, and she had to call 911 for someone who got trapped in their car. The news is saying some areas might end up with over 6 inches of rain in the region.
Tornadoes and straight line winds were the other big problems, as you can see elsewhere in this thread. A couple tractor trailers were flipped over from tornadoes in southern New Castle County DE, not sure if anyone mentioned that: https://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/local/tracking-high-winds-tornadoes-tractor-trailers-flipped-over-in-de/2490388/. Also some areas are reporting 70+ mph wind gusts, and a roof blew off in Ocean City NJ.
Overall, I'm pretty sure this was the most significant tropical event I've dealt with, sorry Irene lol.

Center looks to be moving through the metro Philadelphia area now. That’s some serious rainfall to the northwest of the center!
