I think there's a chance it could get to sub-900 levels, I don't think it will exceed Wilma thankfully but I think it could rival it.
The Caribbean and lower Gulf are more or less bathwater right now.

Do not take anything I say seriously as a form of meteorological prediction. I am not a meteorologist; I don't think being in law school translates to any special knowledge. I am just a somewhat bullish amateur watcher.

Not to sound personal but what's your wife doing in Cancun without you? I'd be tracking the storm as well as her!

LMAO. "You are a beautiful American woman." Lots of charmers down there. My ex-wife went down there when she graduated nursing school with some of her classmates. She got tired of being hit on non-stop. So she finally busted out a "bonjour" and got, "Oh you are a beautiful Canadian woman." Haha. Love me some Yucatan.

Is there any way she can leave?

She could very possibly experience a Cat 4-5 hurricane tonight. She will probably be stuck there for a while if she can’t leave.

I told her to relocate, she is headed about 35 miles SW of Playa del Carmen. She should be good there but she'll move further south if Delta tracks south of the current forecast.

Latest VDM shows the eye has shrunk to 5 nautical miles.

Even Levi is mentioning Galveston. We should still be concerned here in the Greater Houston Area.

I did get my roof replaced over the weekend and think I'll reschedule my remodeling plans until next week. Glad I didn't put my porch furniture back out. This year sucks.

I would also note that the lowest pressure may not occur in the Caribbean but in the Western Gulf.

I'm going with a 135 knot peak right as the storm is making landfall...

140 knots+ isn't impossible though.

I don't think anyone is sounding any alarms for us, but with the way this season has gone, and the continued west shifts in the Euro, I'm still paying close attention. It's not over until it dissipates as we all know.

I'll say 180 mph and 899 mbar, just so it officially enters the Atlantic sub-900mb club, which hasn't had a new entry since Rita and Wilma in 2005.

Something else that is concerning to me is that the NHC now has Delta restrengthening again in the GOM before finally weakening before landfall... But that restrengthening will also create a higher surge even when it weakens coming in

Jeez.

SFMR
113 knots
(~ 130.0 mph)

Flight Level
132 knots
(~ 151.9 mph)

Multiple SFMR readings >100 knots too.
