Looks like the NHC nailed it on location and pressure, 995.

That 66kt flight level supports a 50kt storm. Not bad after 12 hours over land.

Dry air from the NW Gulf is moving across the northern Yucatan into the south side of the storm now. That'll be cutting off its moisture soon, leading to slow weakening and eventual dissipation in the BoC.

The dropsonde pressure from the last pass came up as 667 mbar on Tropical Tidbits. I don’t know how 997 got put in as 667, and there’s no way this is the strongest system ever recorded on Earth lol.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Delta will likely be the Grim Reaper for Gamma. It's got a lot more time to strengthen too while Gamma is literally threading a needle.

Looks like Gamma is turning further east away from the forecast track.

Not sure what you're looking at but I don't see anything other then a minimal northward motion. Are you referencing any particular model?

Gamma looks like is about to get decapitated any minute now.

I think you are seeing the effects of increasing SW shear

I think it's more the very dry air that rotated around the south side of Gamma and is now even east of the center. It's cutting Gamma off from any moisture inflow. That'll cause weakening for the next few days.

ATL: GAMMA - Tropical Storm

It is sucking dry air and will be the weaker of the two systems...

It is also over a cool water upwelling section of the Gulf Of Mexico...

Shear is really starting to be apparent now, surprised Gamma held together for a long as she did. I am a little concerned that the NE jog may result in 92L going further east.

Yeah I don’t think it’s moved any but the shear is making the naked eye appear like it’s moving NE. The actual center on visible has stayed put.

That said, the clouds streaming to the NE “could” give 92L a nudge East. However, the HP could also ease things in the Gulf allowing for the 92L to move further west.
