Recon has descended down to 812 gpm. I think there’s another search and rescue going on.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

What is the normal gpm for Recon?

All observations are in Tecumseh, OK unless otherwise noted.

Winter posts are focused mainly for Oklahoma & Texas.

Take any of my forecasts with a grain of salt, refer to the NWS, SPC, and NHC for official information

Like 2500-3000 for a hurricane. They can go lower with weaker storms and invests.

That is a bummer if you wanted to know how strong the winds were inside Epsilon.

That's the point of a recon mission  if it is indeed a search and rescue, hope everyone is ok

I am in no way a professional. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I could be totally wrong. Please refer to the NHC, NWS, or SPC for official information.

Doesn’t look like it. They had a straight path instead of doing loops, and I don’t think they dropped below 800 gpm.

Peripheral winds don't look too bad and the track is coming around to north so Bermuda is just going to get some breezy weather (apparently).

If that's the case, they were called off for some reason.

In the end we only got a couple of rain bands and some impressive surf. The poor beaches have had a rough year.

Epsilon still looking impressive this morning. Eye still very clear and the cyclone is holding its own quite well.

What causes the Map on here to be able to add a new Invest but not update Epsilon, or i’m sorry “TD27”
Srsly is it an automatic or does someone go in and manually update it on here?

This thing is still very well-defined despite being over 25.5C SSTs, barely enough to support anything. This really is like Epsilon 1.

Poor Epsilon. Just the other day he was hot stuff, but now that there's a brand new baby in the picture (95L), it's like he's now chopped liver.

(It's okay Epsy, I still luv ya. )

It's automated and uses a no longer actively supported source of information. I doubt it handles this many storms, which is why it's broken.

Still a well-defined eye on satellite though. I suspect Epsilon has intensified some this afternoon and evening?

“Sub-26C SSTs? What sub-26C SSTs?”

Lapse rates are well above average, hence 22C SST's are probably sufficient.
