He's referencing what is usually a very bad environment this time of the year in the Caribbean Sea. It has the nickname "the Graveyard" kinda like the GA's are "The Shredder" "CHeese Grater", etc.

I am by no means a professional. DO NOT look at my forecasts for official information or make decisions based on what I post.

Goal: to become a registered expert over tropical and subtropical cyclones.

Easy with the comments people. It's not dying, it's not doing RI at the moment. It's ok.

Means it's going to die off and become an open wave like the Euro has long been depicting. King Euro wins.

As you can see though, and as the HWRF also showed, dry air entertainment from the NW.

I knew the shredder but the graveyard I hadn’t heard before. Looks like Elsa is going to skip that and the shredder. She’s got other plans.

She’ll shrug off that dry air in 6 hours or so and wave to the Euro as she passes south of DR

You can see the dry air to the NW bumping into Elsa. Seems like a small speed bump that will be short lived

If Elsa does follow the HWRF relatively closely as it has been doing for most of its life so far then it seems like it could be the first major in July in 13 years

An hour ago Elsa was at 13.99N and she is steady climbing. NHC at 11am forecasted Elsa to cross 14.6N later tonight, IMO Elsa will cross that mark very soon.

Looks to be at about 14.1N based on radar edge returns.

That northern eyeball type feature really formed fast as she approached Barbados this morning

I do remember the "shredder" helping Isaias consolidate but that was a different situation of course

After checking back on IR she now appears to be moving more WNW again

Looks like Elsa might be turning mildly towards the south on the latest frames?
