Still looks a little bit broad. RMW should tighten up over time

Re: ATL: IDA - Hurricane - Discussion
Multiple hot towers dancing around each other... extremely foreboding signature. I can't recall a time where a storm didn't explosively deepen after having dual convective towers around the eyewall. I'd expect a cat 2 very soon, if not already.

4AM advisory kept at 70kts. Pretty sure it's actually stronger than that

Two hot tower rapidly spinning around the llc not a good sign ri is just about to start, i think it might intensify all the way to land fall like in Micheal, Dorian and laura did, I can see this anyway from 145 to 165mph at landfall

Agreed, but I understand that they're keeping it at 70 kts for now since gauging storms undergoing RI is always very difficult. Recon is on its way so they're just being safe with their estimates for now until the plane arrives.

Could be more like 80 to 85 knots right now.

Massive burst of lightning in the convection wrapping around the eastern eyewall. I wouldn't be surprised to see this as a major hurricane by 18z, perhaps it hits cat 4 sometime this afternoon.

Me and my middle kid and the dogs bailed around 7 and got to Pensacola. Not much traffic. We get there and he realizes that he forgot to leave his brother the car keys to get out after work tomorrow. Haha. So we drove back to New Orleans and are now again on the way back to Pensacola. We gassed up in Pensacola and found a gas station in Gulfport to top off again for the way back. We found some at the 3rd station we came to on Highway 49. I was kind of surprised gas supplies were low over there but I guess people got what they felt they needed. Anyway, I’m back on the road a few miles inside Mississippi. Still no traffic on the I-10. That’s liable to change in the next few hours as I-10 becomes a parking lot.

Hunch tells me it's now a Cat2 on its way to be a Cat3 in a few hrs. When the eye is established only God knows how much the intensity jump would be. 40 to 50-knot increase in 12 hrs seems attainable at this rate.
