Bill is now up to 50 mph, very fast moving East Coast system for sure

Moving: NE at 31 mph
Min pressure: 999 mb
Max sustained: 50 mph

appears to be a low to mid level eye.. some deeper convection building on the NE quad and sustained convection has been in the SW Quad..

Brief hurricane Bill coming right up lol

of course they likely would not upgrade without ASCAt showing at least 60kts +

from a few hours ago is the best we have so far..

does appear to be an eyewall then.. so looks like we have a hurricane or at least 70mph.

It looks shockingly good for a recently formed June mid-latitude system. It should be 50-55 kt at the absolute minimum for 11am. When is the next ASCAT pass?

knowing ASCAT it will miss the peak right now.... and by 11 it will be moving over very cold water pretty quick as it leaves the gulf stream.

I don’t think it’s quite a hurricane based on appearance, but it is well organized and likely over 50 mph. Gorgeous storm!

The NHC will probably go with 50 kt because the last best track was 40 kt, but the official intensity was 45 kt.

It was fascinating to watch Bill's evolution from a frontal low to a bonafide moderately strong tropical storm. An overperformer for so early in the season

Looks a lot worse now then even just an hour or two ago. LLC looks to have gotten destroyed based on latest frames
