Small nameable system on the 12z Euro. Roughly half of the ensembles have tropical development.

18z GFS has tropical transition in the 1-2 day range, not long after shedding the front.

GFS shows a struggle with shear and dry air before a period of reorganization (2-3 day range). This occurs as the environment moistens up and the upper level trough weakens and moves out. It has been quite consistent with this evolution. The HWRF is similar but slightly weaker.

Today’s 12z HWRF correctly initialized Wanda with its sheared and anemic structure, but shows recover starting in the next 24 hours, with the pressure bottoming out in the low 980s by Thursday and a complete convective ring forming.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.
