Re: EPAC: DARBY - Hurricane
I think this peaks at 140 mph. It is very unlikely to reach cat 5 without another round of intensification. Storm is stabilizing and won’t intensify much further IMO. Reminds me of Felicia.

This is what Papín said at the top of discussion.

I love it when professionals let their excitement peep out. Deep down inside, they still have that giddy love for storms like we do here at storm2k.

Impressive little system. Good to see a system overachieve in the EPAC again.

DMax probably gives it another shot overnight but thermodynamics and the tropopause likely will keep Darby in check.

I think 120-125kts might be do-able ceiling if she can sustain it. To get higher than that she would have to be well south of forecast.

Re: EPAC: DARBY - Hurricane
Maybe now people will stop saying that this a typical EPAC season, this ACE doesn’t even account for the system coming behind it and models are already hinting at another one behind that too.

This is basically on the same tier as past upper elechon annular EPAC hurricanes.

When I randomly clicked on the discussion not following Darby's progress, when I first read that line I knew it was Papin.
That SSMIS pass is top-tier, Daniel '06 was larger if I'm not mistaken?
