It's still Invest 93L until the NHC puts out Advisory #1 for either TD 14 or TS Karl.

ATCF has it as Karl, so it's basically certain an advisory is coming

This post was probably an opinion of mine, and in no way is official. Please refer to http://www.hurricanes.gov for official tropical analysis and advisories.

Latest reports from the plane are less convincing that we have a TS in the BoC. Squalls may be producing TS winds to the north, but the well-defined LLC is questionable.

That honestly doesn't look like enough to be classified IMO, not defined enough, doubt they pull the trigger on it yet if at all.

Where are you seeing the official name change? You sound pretty argumentative, people have different opinions and that's ok.

I guess my question is what exactly is "good enough" for them? What do they consider as low level center? Because I can recall systems more organized than this on recon that they didn't pull the trigger on.

But they have that awesome model that Tropical Tidbits turned off during Ian because it was wasting processing power.

Would NHC have posted that they will initiate advisories on either PTC/Karl if they were going to at 5 PM? Or is there still a chance we might see an advisory at 5 PM without that?

RAMMB also has TS Karl and it's consistently foretold systems starting to get advisories

The Navy (FNMOC/NRL) is an official source. No doubts on that.

They are wrong on what?
Their source is ATCF, which is directly controlled by NHC/JTWC
