It has to be getting pretty wild on KW though. If not damaging winds, rain and coastal flooding. I would say this would be a hurricane party night there on Duval, but for that Duval St is probably going to be flooded if it isn't already.

Reduce the expected shear, Modify the track.

Is that whats going to cause it to go further out into the ocean before 2nd landfall?

Winds are reduced, pressure can get lower. Remember Ike with super low pressures and 'just' cat 2 winds. One of the epic fails of the saffir simpson scale. Once eyewall recovers winds should start to rise again.

Recon shows a well-defined double wind maxima, indicating an outer eyewall.
