GFS and ECMWF have been really confident in a potent system for over a week, and it’s evolution has been remarkably quick so far. Am confident this one will be yet another major hurricane.

The way this is rotating convection and given how cold the cloud tops are this is probably a Category 2 now and will make a run at Category 4 or 5 before shear kicks in tomorrow.

JTWC agrees. The 18z BT intensity has been raised to 90 kt. Odds are good it becomes a 115-125 kt Cat 4 tomorrow.

Also, where is that satellite imagery from?

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

20z high-res microwave pass shows a pretty good inner core. The only issue facing Halima is that the SE eyewall is thin.

I'd say that's a good call from the JTWC, they noted a rapidly improving structure with a clear eye.

Coming down fast now due to shear. Dvorak never passed 6.0 so not confident it was much higher than 120-125.

Halima has lost the Eye, I can't find it anymore. (Saw it collapse on Windy)

115 kt 10-min = 130 - 135 kt (right?)
Halima will be the strongest cyclone in this season
