GFS wants this to be named too with some runs even showing a strong typhoon as it slowly approaches the Philippines. 3 possible named storms existing at the same time in April. How about that?

The latest GFS run shows that 96W will develop into an intense typhoon with a small round eye as it approaches the Philippines.

I doubt this will spin up as fast as modeled in the GFS.m with a displaced ULAC and likely outflow from disturbances to its west. Even the GFS keeps this broad for a day or so before falling to it’s usual tricks.
