That part of the East China Sea has a lot of oil platforms. Another one reported 945.8 mb SLP earlier. Most likely, this data is only available within China.

Re: WPAC: HINNAMNOR - Typhoon
The Central Meteorological Observatory continued to issue a yellow typhoon warning at 06:00 on September 5 :
The center of this year's No. 11 typhoon Hinnanmor is located on the southern part of the East China Sea, about 245 kilometers southeast of Zhujiajian Island, Zhejiang Province at 5 o'clock in the morning today ( 5th ), which is 29.2 degrees north latitude and 124.8 degrees east longitude . The maximum wind force near the center is level 16 ( 55 m / s ), the minimum pressure in the center is 930 hPa , the radius of the seventh - level wind circle is 350-400 kilometers, the tenth level wind circle radius is 120-150 kilometers , and the The radius of the secondary wind circle is 30 kilometers.
It is expected that Hinnamnor will move to the north at a speed of 20-25 kilometers per hour, and its intensity will gradually weaken . It will turn to the northeast during the day today , and will land or brush across the southern coast of South Korea from the morning to the morning of the 6th . Entering the Sea of Japan, moving rapidly to the northeast and gradually becoming an extratropical cyclone

Re: WPAC: HINNAMNOR - Typhoon
We should also be getting good observations from waters near South Korea later. They have an extensive marine weather observation network.

Re: WPAC: HINNAMNOR - Typhoon
Hinnamnor has had this moat around its tight inner core with a discernible secondary eyewall forming since yesterday but an EWRC is yet to commence. Yet, 18Z GFS and HWRF continue to show that a huge eye should be emerging / should've emerged by now. Obviously not.

Re: WPAC: HINNAMNOR - Typhoon
Radarsat2 offered a neat look at the wind structure of Typhoon Hinnamnor last night. Interesting to see the 100 kt winds confined to the RMW, and typhoon force winds not extending much out beyond the core. Then after a wind minimum in the moat, there's another area of hurricane force winds in the primary band, which developed into the outer eyewall.

Re: WPAC: HINNAMNOR - Typhoon
Satellite signature has quickly deteriorated over the past few hours, but a Korean buoy E of the center still recorded max sustained winds of 65kts w/ gusts up to 83kts, and SLP of 954.8 mb at 6pm KST (09Z). Pressure slightly rose to 955.7 mb 30 mins later, suggesting that the pressure was much lower in between the reporting periods (perhaps 950mb based on the observed ~6mb/30mins pressure drop and rise). Also, radar shows that Hinnamnor still has a small inner core, so the buoy probably also didn't capture the max winds.

Re: WPAC: HINNAMNOR - Typhoon
Another buoy SE of Jeju suggests that the central pressure of Hinnamnor is still in the 950s (it recorded 960.2 mb SLP at 14:30Z with the min likely occurring before that). The buoy appears to be in the moat around the inner eyewall though, judging from the rather weak winds it observed.

Inner core still intact nearing landfall, going to be one of SK’s strongest landfall on record, on par with Maemi in 2003.

JTWC has this as 90 knots (100 mph) just before landfall.

Re: WPAC: HINNAMNOR - Typhoon
Before it made landfall over Busan, a couple of more buoys near the coast recorded a SLP of ~956mb, with one of them recording a max gust of 70kts. According to KMA, the highest gust observed on land so far is 84kts on Maemuldo, Tongyeong.
