This has the potential to be a really, really long thread. And I hope that won't be the case.

Buoy to the southeast shows southwesterly winds confirming the ascat from earlier. Wouldn't take much....We will see.

I am in no way a professional. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I could be totally wrong. Please refer to the NHC, NWS, or SPC for official information.

NHC’s “X” was @14N/42W at 8pm.

For the record, so we remember how it struggled at the beginning. Here we go!!

I am by no means a professional. DO NOT look at my forecasts for official information or make decisions based on what I post.

Goal: to become a registered expert over tropical and subtropical cyclones.

Actually 91L has pretty favorable environment right now with the only thing stopping it is its being stuck in the monsoon trough.

There is SAL within 91L as well, but 91L is located at the leading edge of a unusually late SAL plume.

Makes sense that they've finally given it an invest tag now that we essentially have a single trackable entity instead of the bifurcated structure, although it is still quite sloppy and elongated in nature and thus will take its time developing. Probably won't get going in any appreciable manner until about 55W.

Looks like the center is more elliptical with smaller rotations going around it

On the flipside, if it chokes then it will only accelerate the talk

This post was probably an opinion of mine, and in no way is official. Please refer to http://www.hurricanes.gov for official tropical analysis and advisories.

My website, with lots of tropical wx graphics, including satellite and recon: http://cyclonicwx.com
