A slowly weakening Fish Storm. Hopefully cooled down the Subtropics somewhat to reduce that kind of marine heatwave.

Is it just me, or does it look like she's getting better organized? This is not what I was expecting from a decaying storm...

Wow, that’s the most defined Danielle’s eye has been in days. It might be up to 70-75 kt again.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Danielle looks the best it ever has. Large eye is warm with cold cloud tops around it.

I am by no means a professional. DO NOT look at my forecasts for official information or make decisions based on what I post.

Goal: to become a registered expert over tropical and subtropical cyclones.

Danielle still appears to be holding it’s own as it nears 45N. Very impressive for such a high latitude! The impact of the above average water temps is apparent.

If we had Recon up there, I suspect the intensity would be higher than believed, like 80-85 kt. Of course, there is no way to prove it unless a ship gets in.

One thing I wonder - I know Danielle is supposed to drop south again in latitude after becoming ET. Could it make a transition back to tropical or subtropical west of Portugal?

I'm not a professional and, as such, I'm unsure if I interpreted the model output correctly, but the 12z GFS seemed to show Danielle becoming a subtropical storm again just off of Portugal at +132 (also supported by phase diagram).

Danielle looks to be beginning her transition into an extratropical cyclone, which will only accelerate through tomorrow. As others have stated, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if she peaked 10 or so kts higher than officially stated, but I guess we’ll never know for sure… such are the tropics. Regardless, Danielle’s certainly been an intriguing and entertaining high-latitude fish-storm to track the past couple of days.

Thus likely dies any chance of having three active storms at one this season
