Little change in strength is expected with
Gert before it dissipates, although this system has been more
resilient to shear than most small tropical cyclones.

Gert is probably the biggest underdog of 2023. Keeps on fighting.

Keep in mind that this was Gert's first forecast cone after it was named.

Now, over 2 weeks later, Gert has outlived every other storm that formed in August (and it was technically the first system to become a TC in August as well).

It looks like Gert is trying to sneak into a better environment between Idalia and the feature steering it to the east. Amazing little storm
