Exactly. Ian was only a few degrees variation from expected track & the different was pretty significant.
Also for hurricane force gusts they're needed. You saw with Irma how SEFL had 90mph gusts for hours and caused a lot of power problems. We will probably see this in SWFL too. Gusts to 80-90 and with all the power grid still rigged from Ian patched together will cause issues.
While this won't be an Ian it can still cause disruption away from the center.
