It’s still dealing with moderate shear, but this is the best Tammy has looked so far. I think it’s possible recon could find an 80 kt hurricane if it keeps up the deep convection.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Dead wrong lol. Pressure is up and there were no hurricane winds found in the S to N pass.

Looks like it’s down to around 60 kt or so. Might briefly regain hurricane intensity but it’s past its peak now most likely. Jet interaction a big ? mark

Good morning.
I have to take back what I said about Tammy being a non event. She has a wicked tail. She attacked early this morning with heavy thunderstorms and a lot of rain. My home gauges measured a little over 4 inches.
Roads were flooded and we had minor rock slides.
Businesses are open now, but schools are closed.
I'm not sure this link will work, but the video shows road flooding in the Mullet Bay area.

NHC discussion only goes out to day 3, a sign of the extremely low-confidence forecast after that point.

Too bad there isn't any recon scheduled to fly over Hurricane Tammy in the next few days...
