ARGH!!!!!! Weather is fascinating but so are about one zillion other things in the world. If you are bored with the weather right now, FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO DO!!! I swear, when you are done, the weather will still be here,
I promise!!!
Go feed the homeless, take a walk, make a kite, join Big Brothers/Sisters, take up origami, learn to play an instrument, write a letter to an elderly relative, learn to do cartwheels, go fishing, read a book (oh never mind), do a random act of kindness, take a drive and see what the weather is doing to your part of the world, go swimming, LEARN to swim, TEACH someone to swim...cook a meal, go on a camp out even if it is in your own back yard, build something, learn a new language, join a good cause, learn how to use a sextant, go outside and look at the sky...for three hours! ......... GEEZE!

It's hard to believe the peak of hurricane season is a little over three weeks away...yet we've had one hurricane in the past two/three weeks. This "lull" in activity is very interesting...has it ever been this quiet so late into the season?!

I think things will pick up in the coming week.

yep, the potential record season is out the window! According to the weather channel, there have been a few years where the season started off with a bang and it just dropped off and died from there. Although I can't say that will happen this year, it is a possibility.

It's already been a record season... Dennis and then Emily both being the strongest Atlantic hurricane in July... earliest 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th named storms... etc, etc, etc.

Still, it IS 3 weeks until the peak... might I add that last year on August 18th there was nothing out there. Frances started on August 24th and it was a month of heck after that...

*Transports everyone bored with the current situation and those believing the season is over to the 1914 hurricane season, then marathon key during the eyewall of the 1935 FL Keys Hurricane*

If the ocean gets any hotter smoke alarms are going to start going off in Florida.

The water in the Atlantic is too hot to be refreshing, it must be running in the upper 80s around the beaches

you would do yourself a big favor by trying to stay indoors as much as possible.
