233 knots is 267mph *EEEK* I'm on vacation in NC but watching the situation with NCBird and just feel sick with dread over this situation!

Actually thats 267 mph. Multiply 1.15 to knots to get mph. Absolutely the most amazing storm that has ever impacted U.S.

or to go from knotts to MPH multiply 1.149

and it is x .87 to go from mph to knotts

I saw this on another message board: Radio NHCWX just said that a dropsonde recorded a wind at the 866MB level...

no words.... i don't know what to say. can this be confirmed?

All the records are going down this year. Last month some one wondered what a 1 in 200 year season looked like. It looks like we are going to find out.
