Friends of ours who live in Chalmette sent us this. They evacuated
thank God.

My co-workers parents live in Chalmette. The evacuated to Texas. Very very sad.

I heard a report on WWL that they are saying that the Mississippi River has re-claimed Plaquemine Parish and that no one has gotten into Grand Isle since the 20ft storm surge ripped through there...catastrophic to say the least ...

Nope. :roll: Plain old "Mother Nature", what with the wind patterns, the circulations, the temperatures, pressure and all. A weather system. It mindlessly, soulessly and without emotion happened to go where a lot of people chose to build below sea-level and then to "hunker-DROWN" in defiance of the authorities and plain ol' common sense.

I don't like when natural disaster is called an "Act of God". As if he was ticked off or something. No way. Why is it that so much of society tries to strip any mention of God from school and public life, but society then pins the rap for bad weather on him? What's THAT about?

Nothing aimed at you ScoStorms, but it was Mother Nature - On the Coast - With a Hurricane.
