I've had word from Gulf Stream (Jon Adams) in Mobile, so he's OK. We made it to NE LA and we're watching the water rise with great anxiety. Until the levve breached, we thought we were going to be OK.

Just got off the phone with Lindaloo. She is fine! Both her home and her parents homes got water in them. Mary is ok also. 2 of Linda's cousins and her Uncle lost everything. The Pascagoula waterfront is gone! Things that withstood Camille are gone. The Chevron/Texaco refinery is already back up and running she said.

Praise God for some good news.

Something I rarely do.......

THANK YOU GOD!!!

(type in all caps)

So glad you are okay Linda. So sorry to hear of your family's losses. I am hoping and praying the damage to your home won't be too bad. Shocking the entire P. waterfront is gone!

Going to spread the good news now.....so many, many were asking about you today!

And now I can relax a bit tonight....

 Those are tears of joy. Thank goodness you heard from Linda. Now I only hope we hear from everyone else that we haven't been able to contact.

I'm just fine. We didn't have much damage here in Semmes (branches, limbs, an occasional small tree). Our power has been out since 9-10am on Monday (I'm posting from my mom's workplace, which has power). Hope everyone is all right.

I haven't read much of this topic, but if anyone is wondering which S2K members were in the path, please check http://membermaps.e-techcorp.net. Hope everyone has either evacuated or made it through the storm safely.

Heard from Mississippi Storm Magnet. His Diamondhead home took on 8 feet of water (this is north of I-10, folks). He described it as 'destroyed' in a text message. He was evacuated at the time to Lucedale.

He sent a picture of my house and it appears I have one tree down on it. Can't see the back but surprised to see most of the trees back there still standing, if at odd angles.

I am fluctuating between being grateful for mine and angry and sad for Miss. Storm Magnet. :( No word on dhweather's house.

I was actually the one who edited and put it that way. But, it's true...you've been here all through it. :)

I'm safe

#55 Postby LAwxrgal » Tue Aug 30, 2005 7:28 pm

Hello everyone, I went to visit my sister in Houston. I am not allowed in my house yet. I want to let everyone know I am safe and sound and tell everybody to pray for us.

This was our generation's Camille and Betsy. The likes of this disaster have not been seen in a long time.

Sorry to hear about Mississippi Storm Magnet's house, and glad to hear that others' homes are safe. Am praying for the rest of you.

This thread is just amazing and uplifting. In this dark and dreary time we're finding our friends and family are safe.
