I still say ice box instead of refrigerator. I can't seem to make the switch. It drives my mother batty.

That was Aaron Brown. I nearly wet myself laughing when he said that.

He kept saying "Bye LOX eee." Folks, it ain't that hard. It's an Indian name, not something you spread on a bagel.

BTW Mike, spelt is not a word.

To my knowledge, "spelt" is most definitely a word. Actually, I prefer to use it than "spelled".

While we're on the subject of pronounciation (which we really shouldn't be because this is a weather forum  ), "wander" is pronounced ONE-DER (like the digit 1 followed by "DER") and not WAN-DER. We have a local sportscaster who's been pronouncing it incorrectly for years.

Every reporter I've heard over the last month has mispronounced it! Someone needs to tell them it's pronounced "Buh - Lux - EEE" *NOT* "Buh - LOCK - See!"

Hmmm. I pronounce it "WAHHN-DER" i.e. "WAND-ER"

Now, "wonder" I pronounce "ONE-DER."

That's the tricky thing about it. "Wonder" should actually be pronounced "WUN-DER" (the "UN" here being pronounced as in "lunch" or "hunch"), while "wander" should be pronounced as I've previously stated.

Heh, to a Southerner like me, WUN and ONE are the same. ;) The WAH in "wander" to me is the same as the WAH in "want."
