Aftermath of Katrina in Chalmette, LA

#1 Postby KatDaddy » Wed Oct 05, 2005 8:05 am

My co-worker's family is from Chalmette, LA and they were hit very hard by the flooding. His grandmothers home had 4ft of water over the peak of the house. The photos around 100 show what it looks inside the home after the floodwaters had receded. Truley amazing to see the aftermath. It just bring back home again

Wow...those remind me so much of Juan in the 80's. I can actually smell the mold and mildew looking at those pics...what a mess. Thanks for sharing and good luck to you family.

Dupre Transport where I work lost 20 trucks and a destroyed terminal building in chalmette. basically our Chalmette operation had to be completely relocated to Baton rouge.

I spent the weekend stomping around in the muck near Michoud Boulevard/Six Flags. Water is still at 1-3 feet there, and in lower lying areas, up to 4 feet. It is DISGUSTING.
