This thing looks like it's getting better organized as it's coming ashore. Oh man, Cozumel and Cancun are going to be devastated...

You know the windspeed is very high when palm trees start to fall under the winds.

No word of course as the area has been getting pounded! There is no water, power or phone service. State police reported the sea and lagoon meeting and causing subtantial damage to one of the Hyatt's. Downtown has 3-5 feet of water.

Fox news reported their hotel shook like jello last night. Sounds like not a alot of sleeping as 2-5am was the worst of it. Definately the worst hit Mexico has had in a long time.

Will update when I hear anything (Likely a few days)

I am amazed at the power of the internet allowing live eyewitness reporting real time. A great comfort for those with friends or family in the region.

Gosh I hope everybody over there is okay! Including your brother, Sponger. Prayers for everyone there.

I pray for Cozumel and Cancun. I have been to Cozumel twice. Gorgeous place and wish I had to more time to spend there. Cruises don't allow you to spend much time, so you feel rushed. It was favorite place in the caribbean that I visited. The people are real nice there too. I just hope there is not a large loss of life and that everyone will come out okay.
