You know ... I'm not particularly a supporter of the death penalty, but every now and then I think there's a place for it ...

:uarrow: rape and molestation are not factors of one's sex drive...get real!

they are control orientated crimes!!!!!

so take away the person's ability to REPRODUCE is my argument!

molestation is DEFINITELY a factor of one's sex drive.

According to the story one of the victims was less than 18 months old.As the proud father of a 5 month old daughter I can't imagine what kind of animal would do something like this. There is no punishment too severe for these crimes.

fine i will concede that...but still you did not need to flame me!!!!

which by stating "get real" is most certainly construed as such--so i might have been misinformed (it has been 12 years since i last studied abnormal psychology) so inform me--but no need to fly off the handle.

and even though that was not the purpose of my comment in the first place i did remember that being there...that molestation is a control crime (which to some extent it IS)

upon looking through my old textbook i see i was wrong that indeed more largely it is sex drive related

but as stated before my comment was not to necessarily reduce the molester's sex drive...

it was that: i feel those that molest do not deserve to be able to reproduce (either a) men--because most sexual predators are men or b) women--because if she molests children she doesn't deserve to have any!!!) so my solution is to remove the means with which that is accomplished

i guess it was a "cheap shot" that i said hysterectomy in your book for which i apologize...hopefully i have explained my viewpoint.

Eh?

I'll agree with you AND with Alicia. It's a bit of both -- about sex and about control.

But how does taking away their ability to have children stop them? Sure, they won't have their own flesh and blood to torment. If they had any desire to have sex with an adult in order to procreate and have their own children, then they might not be the sick perverts that they are in the first place. But how in the world would that possibly stop them from molesting someone else's child? I hate to be this direct, but fingers, eyes, and tongues being removed might help a bit more than just the surgeries on the reproductive organs.

well i can agree with that also Duck.

a lot of sexual predators do have children and either are or have been married as well...hell some are even priests....many (if not most) molestations are incestual or are someone that knows the victim prior to the event

to me one of our rights as humans is to be able to reproduce much like it is one's right to be able to walk down the street.

with men castration will lower the sex drive though...

it was i guess a bit more of a flippant comment much like the fingers, eyes, toes.....that you made...heck tatto them with a big "M" on their forehead much like "The Scarlet Letter" and let them live in public shame because many who have previously been convicted do not register as they are legally obligated to do upon release/relocation, etc.

heck prison might even be the worst as we have heard what happens to molesters there
