Sometimes that just doesn't pan out, but every time I look at the list of names, those old '60s chick names just jump out at me (I didn't like Rita or Wilma on the name list last year...but I didn't find Katrina too threatening. Oops!).
I also don't like Isaac. Maybe because of the book "Isaac's Storm" by Eric Larsen. For those who don't know...the book is the true story of Isaac Cline - Texas' chief weatherman and Galveston resident who dismissed any storm threat to Galveston and rejected the idea of building a storm surge wall...in 1900. That very year, the great Galveston hurricane swept in killing as many as 10,000 people, destroying the city - Isaac's house was erased and his wife killed in the storm he refused to believe could impact Galveston.
I don't like William either, because it sounds like a Cat 5 potential name...but I am hoping my prediction of 19 named storms this year will prevent William from getting his chance.
Gordon I would call a wild card...after his last performance 6 years ago, weaving, turning, u-turning, passing through the same area twice, etc...you just don't know what to expect from him this time!
I'll always worry a bit about the 'A's, 'C's, and 'F's in general...there have been 9 retired 'C's...and 7 each retired 'A's and 'F's...the top 3 retired letters.
wow. gordon was
confusing....http://www.hprcc.unl.edu/n ... track.html
I agree...could be an interesting one
