Problem: Do you use those tire inflator machines at convenience stores that you put in quarters and it runs for 2 or 3 minutes? Has it ever ran out of time before you get to all 4 tires?

Solution: Go around and unscrew all four valve caps before putting the money in the machine. If you have to struggle to unscrew any of them, you won't have to do it while the machine is running. If you do this, you should have plenty of time to do all four tires.

Lessee, time/money-saving tricks. Supposedly if you gas up your car in the morning, you'll get a skoche more gas than you would in the afternoon because the gasoline is cooler and not so...gaseous. Could be completely false though, I forget where I heard it.

Do some of your own maintainance like oil changes, filters, windshield wipers, and spark plugs and only use regular unleaded unless your car calls for premium or knocks with low grade.

I've got one...may seem like a small thing but...

Brown-bag your lunch to go to work/school.
Believe it or not, all those lunches that you buy everyday at fast food places ADDS up over time. If you spend just $ 5 a day for lunch, thats about $ 25 per week, approx $100 a month, thats $ 1200 a year (very conservative figure). (THIS DOESN'T EVEN INCLUDE THAT CUP OF COFFEE)

You will save a bundle of money just doing your lunches at home before going out.

Now if only we can spare the time.

A mechanic once told me that if you never let your gas get below half full that you would save a bundle of money every year. He explained why but it went over my head. I could never do it because I hate filling the car. Oh for the good old days.

Not sure about how it saves money. But in the winter, it can prevent your fuel line from freezing up. Condensation builds up and can freeze. Keeping the tank more than half full lessens the amount of water that condenses in there and prevents you from have winter car troubles.

It's really very simple, at self service car washes, I just go straight to hot wash, skipping the rinse option first. I was low on quarters once and the manager gave me this tip. He said just go right to wash and then rinse. I've been able to wash and rinse my car in under the minimum amount (whatever it is now, $3?). And I skip the tire wash and hot wax options. Figuring it'll rain and my car will get dirty again. At least for a few days it's clean again.

That's my time consuming tip.

you are able to refill your prescriptions normally 3 days before your refills run out...depending upon your insurance. so then you'll never risk running out of pills if they are out of stock or if any other problems arise.

OK... Here is a Starbucks trick... If you want a latte or an iced latte and you wanna save a little money, you buy a doppio (double shot of espresso) and add the milk or the half and half (breve) at the condiment bar... Or if you want the foam, order a short instead of a tall... the short is smaller, but has the same amount of espresso in it... People do this all the time.. lol..
