AMEN! I agree, SouthFloridawx. I agree on how the forecasters get tired of trying their best to get the truths out. Kudos and the best thanks to them. I agree with Mike on how the truths need to get out to everyone.

That is an interesting addition to the forcast I will be looking forward to. I am dissapointed in how the media is during this conference. the media does not understand... its incredible the steering pattern means everything!

I am just really suprised by the fact that the media is not asking questions about troughing/ridging and low shear in the atlantic. That really kind of bothers me :grr: . I hope that Mike can spend some more time next week on that subject. Man we are really starting to get close to this season and I haven't even made my preparations as I am moving at the end of the month. I will be moving to a condo rather than an apartment. I would have loved to have gone to the conference to see the all the products out there for people to get ready for hurricane season.

yea totally agree awsome show!i probably wont sleep that much in may cause so much information will be coming out may22 and may31 will be days on STORM2K lots of traffic. :eek:

I wonder what they are planning to do in late May.. something new I think. Never heard of steering pattern forecasts... hmmm

that day people will find who will be more at risk in 06 even thow its not a forsure thing but some interesting stuff is gonna come out...

Great show tonight.The highlights were:

Chris Landsea from NOAA who said that windshear will not be so prominent and the pacific is tilting towards el nino but not this year,however it may be in 2007,08.

Philip J. Klotzbach from Colorado State University who said that on the outlook on May 31 they will talk about how the steering currents will be.

Mike Watkins talking about how the media did not asked the key questions to the experts.

I missed it guys, sorry...but I do think global warming could be impacting what we are seeing...to have so many records broken last year including the number of CAT 5 hurricanes so close to home is very concerning - I hope it was like a 1933 year that was just an anomaly.

If anybody has a bulleted list of key points from the show, I'd like to see them :D

Missed the show Thursday night ... I'm listening to it now.

While I respect your opinion, Mike, and I certainly agree that there's rather too much focus on the issue of whether global warming is contributing to the frequency/intensity of the recent Atlantic seasons, I really think you're going way overboard in the opposite direction in calling the hypothesis "ridiculous".

I hope they do a marathon of Talkin Tropics, or a best of show. Or at least play a extra long verson when a Hurricane hits.

Its the highlight of my thursday nights. theres nothing good on TV
