Convection Near Bahamas

I hope it'd landfall in Georgia and move up to Atlanta and dump some rain... we really, really need it here. Particularly so at Lake Lanier as well, as they accidentally dumped 22 billion gallons of water due to a faulty gauge a couple days ago.

OMG, 22 billion gallons, that is some faulty valve! Glad there wasn't a meter attached, that'd be a huuuuuge bill. Nonetheless, that is lots of water!

Back to topic, alot of mets seem to think nothing will come of this in the short term.

Me neither, I don't think much will develop. Upper Low, perhaps a tropical system with some LLC but who knows. I probably shouldnt speculate like that though, there are a few favorable developments including a more stable environment. We'll see.

As the upper level trough splits, it favors a upper low which we see now, beyond that right now would merely be speculation. Wait and see, perhaps some heavy rain this weekend for Fla/Ga...

Well, Accuweather is sounding more bullish on this system... the headline on their web site now says "Watch for Beryl this weekend"... they are referring to the system near the bahamas.

I am doing a road-trip from Jacksonville,Fl to Charlotte,N.C. and back to Jax this weekend(up Fri. down Sun.).
Will "Beryl" make it a wet trip?
