Sure does look like a weak low forming at the surface...maybe just offshore?

also pressures are falling slowly away from the possible center and winds are gusting to around 30mph away from the center

Got this quote off another board. Would appreciate if anyone has links to these models, specificly the Canadian. Would like to know how this thing can end up in LA

You can have the "thing", just PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! give us folks in Central and Southeast Louisiana some measurable, meaningful, beneficial rain!!!!

Oh, by the way, did I mention it's been a tad on the dry side here since Katrinarita?

I go out golfing, and come back to this! Hmmm...looks interesting for sure. JB may have called this one well if it does develop.

Looks very interesting. If it can move north then we could have something on our hands. Either way, it looks like the Texas coast is going to get pounded by heavy rain, starting this weekend.

I reckon it's about time for the BOC to check in -- and it surely has!

JB is now really biting. He said it will turn north tomorrow and at the VERY LEAST it will be a heavy rain maker for TX, but he said there is a chance it could become a TS or even more! He continued to mention 54' and 99', and both those years featured nice storms in the western Gulf (Ex. Breat in 99'). Looks like this has good potential...I just hope we don't get surprised by it rapidly intensifying into a major hurricane or something. THAT would be bad.

whoa. Hold on a minute here. It's not even a depression yet. It's premature to say the least that this could become a major storm.

How close are they, fwbbreeze? There's certainly not much wind, so hopefully this will just bring some rain to an area that needs it.

He could be right, it depends how fast the storm is moving north. If its moving less than 10 mph it will have the chance to become a hurricane. If its moving over 10 mph probably a strong tropical storm. Remember the water in the GOM is extremely hot.

I was thinking the same thing. But I"m thinking the proximity to land would inhibit any significant development. On The other hand it could pull a Cindy with the Center Relocating to NE?

Does this "area" have any model support. I haven't seen anything. I guess we will have to see if it persists. Hope The area of Texas that have recieved too much rain don't get too much more. I also hope the areas that need it get at least some. See I try to make everyone happy. Stay safe my western friends.

JB says he won't make his official "call" on what the system will do until tomorrow. I am anxious to see what he says then.

Yeah but remember there's strong shear eventually as you move further north.
