I think we are trying to grasp for anything that has a chance - even if there is really no chance at all.

It's so quiet this year and we have all had expectations from last year which, so far, is proving to be an anomaly. Typically things don't get going until mid to late August so in the about 3-4 weeks, I would expect an increase in activity.

However, we shouldn't be surprised if it takes more like 4-6 weeks to see some action (although I don't think it will take that long)

It really has not been too quiet this year. Typically we have just one named storm by July 11th. So far we are about normal for the early season.

I agree. I think we may see 2 systems spin up at once in the near future.

Well it looks like I have another upper level low to track of the west coast of Florida. At least upper level lows sometimes produce rain but they will leave the roofs alone.

Keep in mind that 2004 didnt see Alex until July 31st. this year doesnt have to be average or above average or below average based on what has happened thus far. the truth is that any conceivable idea of what this season will be like cant be made until September.
