It is certainly not strengthening at this time. We will see what they find on next pass.

All around, this advisory is pretty baffling.

The advisory can't have been completed any later than say quarter till 2, and at that time recon had only made the one pass from SE to NW. That pass was clearly nowhere near the center, given the wind profile.

And the pressure rise is just bizzarre. If that verifies once they actually find the center, I'll be astonished.

for the 100th time

that recon report seems valid

Satellite also has not improved. I am not sure what has caused this, but Chris has rapidly weakened is seems, NW quad winds are barely at TS force

The readings they are getting so far are pretty low from what I can gather, but they haven't arrived to the center yet have they?

That would make the entire board laugh at itself for getting so overworked about a rise in pressure. Hehehe.

02/1745 UTC 19.5N 64.0W T3.5/3.5 CHRIS -- Atlantic Ocean

Dvorak likes Chris. It keeps the system at the same intensity and at the same lat/lon lines as the 2 PM advisory.

This may be wrong, but it appears that SAL intrusion may have caused the lowering of some of the flight-level winds and may possibly be contributing to a slightly exposed center.

cheezyWXguy wrote:its not weakening...with a pressure rise like that and the same winds, its probably cuz its getting ready to strengthen and is probably expanding right now...i think by the time recon decides to exit it gains hurricane status
