Can i ask you all a question.....was watching the tropical update on TWC and noticed that they are only using the 3-day track and not the 5-day track...........why is that? Earlier in the day they were using the 5-day track for Chris.

I have a sad feeling and not to wish a storm on anyone of y'all, but I think that the Houston metro area could be in the path, because chris has been moving WNW most if not all of this day, and thus takes a threat away from Brownsville-Corpus Christi.

There is a hint of convection trying to move more towards the NW.

Could just be a expansion of the the storms.

I have been hearing about a CF in the local Houston news that should be in northern TX by Sun/Mon. Could this help weaken the ridge in the western Gulf?

It's fun & all to try to guess where it'll be 6 days from now and point to Texas or Mexico or whereever, but let's be honest -- nobody really knows where it'll be then, if it even exists. Calling out citynames right now is just -removed-. :)

Yes. All models show the ridge building west next week. Still a South Texas issue if it comes back to life.

that's true windy, and then again I could be a good 400 miles off, I was not treating that as a landfall prediction, if it was took that way i sincernly apoligize.

It isn't -removed- if it isn't heading toward where you live. It might be better called "guessing". ;)

Oh, no need to apologize -- I just wanted to remind people what it is & isn't possible to know. I think this site gets an enormous number of people who browse in and gleam the forums for information whenever there is a possibility of a CONUS landfall. Just look at how many people are viewing the forum right now -- and it's nowhere near landfall! Hopefully we don't have any melt-the-servers storms this year! :)
