I heard the terrible news on the radio this morning,how sad and shocking. Sympathy to his family and friends.

I was saddened to see "Breaking news: Steve Irwin's Final Adventure" as the caption on the GMA story this morning. Didn't get all the details so I came to the net to check for sure.

Very sad.

Oh wow, I just heard it on the CNN. I had no idea who Steve Irwin was until I saw his picture. He was so young, early 40s. Prays for his wife, daughter, family and friends. This is shocking news, almost ironic.

I recently saw a couple shows in which he and his family travelled across the U.S and then across Australia via train. It was clear how much he adored his kids and his wife. Such a terrible loss. It's hard to believe all that energy is just gone.

RIP Steve! How sad but as someone said, he was doing something that he loved to do.

This is really upsetting. After all he has survived, he is killed in a freak accident. Stingray venom isn't even deadly. He died because the barb pierced his heart. Stingray deaths are very rare. I loved Steve and watched him a lot. I really feel for his wife and small children. What a tragedy. :(

Wow...talk about a freak accident. I mean, for a stingray barb to get through the ribs in just the right place to puncture the heart. Poor guy. Prayers for his family....at least he died doing what he loved. :(

Never really paid attention to the guy until about 3 weeks ago, I was channel surfing and came across one of his shows....I can't believe it :cry: at least he died doing what he loved best...pushing the envelope! RIP!

When I woke up this morning and saw the breaking news about what happened to him, it was a complete shock. I saw one of his shows the other day when he was interacting with a python. He was a great human being and will be missed by all. Condolences to his family from us and all of us here on the storm2k forum.

The passion he had for what he did and for the animals was really amazing to watch. I feel sorry for his wife Terri. :cry: I imagine she will try to keep running the Australia Zoo but it will be really tough without Steve Irwin's expertise and income. Very sad news indeed. I really enjoyed his shows. He was such a Nice person and His wife was too. They have done so much to help the animals and other human Beings. My thoughts and Prayers go to his family and Friends. He did enjoy his job and he is at peace now. God Bless Steve.

dont get me wrong i hate this news too but if you play russian roullette to many times you will loose.Never would have thought it would be from a stingray bite maybe a cobra or some other venomous snake.


Atleast he didnt go out by a drunk driver or tripping and hitting his head on the coffee table if he had to go this is the way!!!

there have been 3 deaths in Australia caused by stingrays ever! and he had to be one of them! i wonder what he would of thought about that!
