Everything that looked like it might form in the Gulf this year has fizzled. This one should too - HOWEVER, if you look at the surface flow in the GOM it looks more normal like the recurving trade winds from the tropics. I'm not sure if this is moving far enough east to get out into the Gulf, but I'm watching it because conditions might snap on favorable. You never know.
