strange weather here in VA

#1 Postby george_r_1961 » Fri Oct 06, 2006 8:30 pm

We have a noreaster in progress and there is a line of heavy showers and a few thunderstorms to my southwest, not typical for this type of system at all. Earlier this evening there was some bowing and weak rotation detected in some of the stronger cells so an isolated weak tornado or waterspout isnt out of the question. Gonna watch this closely the next few hours. I suspect a UL interacting with the coastal low is responsible. Gonna be an interesting evening

My son was all excited to be going to Richmond, VA to visit his cousin and the cooler weather. It's been raining and has put a damper on their excursions. HA...he should have stayed home...it's cooler and dry!

I heard that they were getting gusts over 60mph at the immediate coast!
