I use "Bud" "My Friend" "My Man" for same gender.. I use Hun, Honey nad sweetheart a lot for females.. weather they are friends or strangers.. So my question to the ladies here.. Is that offensive to use?

I wasn't asking if it was offensive to the receiver of the message. I was simply asking about the intention of the person sending the message.

I don't use terms like that, except with my kids.

I woman I knew casually in HS tosses "sweetie" and "hon" into every sentence; I see her around town occasionally and it drove me crazy at first, but I don't even notice it any more. It stands out when you first meet her because people up north definitely don't talk like that :lol:
