Well hell, maybe it was worth camping out in the rain last night and the freezing cold this morning. I can't believe how each one has at least 15 bids. Gesh.

A local channel interviewed a guy camping out at bestbuy here and he said he was going to ebay his. To me that's so unfair for those going into just to make money and unfair for those waiting in line who want one just to play it.

Well, personally I don't see anything wrong with it. It's Capitalism at its finest. With a little patience though, everybody can get them one, and you don't have to risk your life or go broke to do it. I'm also a supporter of ticket scalping. Nobody is putting a gun to these people's heads to make them empty their wallets.

What amazes is me is how every release of Sony PS's we have the same deal. No supply and high demand! Does Sony do this on purpose, and if so, what do they gain? Somebody enlighten me.

If they'd made 5 million of these, would there be all this press attention?

Instead of just making 5 million and sending them out at once, they make 400,000 now, get the press attention, then make 10 million more.

And I agree with you about it being capitalism at work. If I'd known the stupid things would go at 1000% of retail, I'd have camped out myself.

My brother has one and is getting ready to put his on ebay with a buy it now feature of $2500.00. His sole purpose of getting one was to resale it and make enough money to take care of his Christmas list with a little left over. I am all for it and only wish I had the means to get my hands on one now...(other than the obvious way of dropping a few thousand on one)

I applaud him. He gets what he wants, and somebody gets what they want. Money flows, he spends money that mayby he would not have been able to spend. it's great!

Again, in time everybody will be able to get one at a reasonable price.

Not just SONY but last year Micros***t did the same thing with the XBox360-even as late as this Summer, those were still in short supply. The worst thing about all of this are the gangs of thugs going around and robbing people of their newly bought PS3's. Fortunately one of the thugs was stabbed himself and is in critical condition (with luck, he will croak) but one Patron at least was shot.

I still stand by thinking it's not right to resell them on ebay like they are. I feel more for the kid who might have been next in line to get the ps2, wanting it for himself to play with...not to make a profit on it.Oh well, at least my conscious lets me sleep at night knowing i'm not ripping someone off.

NPR had a story about this on the way home from work today. Very interesting. But no different really than folks selling a four-pack of tickets to tomorrow's big game for $10,000.

Its for a email account to sell you PS3 on. They are trying to trick people into thinking they are selling the actual thing.
