Great news!!! (Ivan related)

#1 Postby rolltide » Mon Dec 18, 2006 7:21 pm

Part of the New I-10 bridge in Pensacola that was damaged by Ivan opens tomorrow. There will now be two lanes open in both directions and all traffic will be off the old bridge. This will be great news for anybody that has been stuck in the HUGE traffic jams since the hurricane. Link to story below.

Yee ha! I have been through there so many times and yet I am most glad for the people who live/work there as it will be a huge relief to them. Very good news indeed, thanks for sharing that with us.

Now, if we can only get a few bridges fixed in Mississippi.....

I can't believe it's already been 2+ years since Hurricane Ivan.

It's great to see the bay bridge re-open! :D

I can't wait to drive on it,it looks so much more hurricane proof than the last bridge.

I will always think what was going through that truck drivers mind when he started across that bridge and then as he slipped into the waters below. May he rest in peace.
