Christmas Lights Still Up
In your area, do you still see Christmas lights still up? Whenever I drive around at night, I still see houses with Christmas lights up and still on, even thought Christmas has passed. I seem to remember Christmas stuff would go down right after Christmas or by New Years at latest. Don't get me wrong, I do like Christmas. It's not about the lights.

Ours came down on New Years day. I still see a few up. Around here there are people who leave them up all year to save the work and then they just light them at Christmas time. The Borough office is right across the street from us and theirs are still up.
Maybe the Borough workers were off all week or something.

This space for rent.
I remember in King of the Hill, there was a Christmas episode called Twas The Nut Before Christmas. Bill would dress as Santa Claus and have Christmas decorations still up WAY passed Christmas. I believe it was up to March. I remember listening to Larry Elder on the radio and he saw a Christmas tree in April.

Take 'em down?!? Ya gotta be kidding! I'm still waiting for some snow to see how beautiful they look twinkling away while covered!
I've still got several trees up...every year I hate to take 'em down!
I drove thru the subdivision tonight just to see who else has theirs up....and (whew!) most are still shining brightly!........p

I didn't have lights, but I took the tree and Nativity scene down two days ago. Some of the other decorations went down earlier. A couple of nights ago, I still saw lights on a few of the houses, but tonight they all seem to be down, or at least not lit.
My grandmother once kept her tree up until about the third week in January.

My outdoor lights are down and packed away. The tree hasn't been lit since th 1st and today is the first day I could find to pack it away correctly (fragile ornaments). My kids might have thrown them all in a box! I have a system so my tree trimmings are not a tangled mess next year.
Occasionally I see homes still lit with outdoor lights. But most are down and if not, not lit at night.
I always find it sad to see streets so dark after the 1st.
Finally, restaurants around here keep their lights up, either on trees outside their entrance or inside. Seems to be a year round thing in the retail world for some establishments (white light only though).
