agreed.. over land is not going to help anything.... but there is a LLC near tampico mexico.. but inland which does not help .,,,,

Ok, looked down there and you being fooled by the varying motions of the different clouds at different levels of the atmosphere. All the low level clouds are streaming NNE, while all the high clouds are moving SSE. This is why it appears their is an LLC down there.

lol .. look closer... it there .. small but there... and i know the difference between directional changes with hight of the clouds.. its there dont worry .. its not impressive by any strectch .. but its really irrelevant.. since its over land.. and moving N..

I agree Aric. It's there, but you have to look REALLY close and careful to see it. It's not one of those "illusion" cases

You'll never be able to see such an LLC on that satellite when the lower levels are obscured by cirrus clouds. The place to look is surface observations, which are straight SE all the way from the BoC to the TX coast. You're seeing either an illusion of a circulation by looking down at multiple cloud layers moving in opposing directions or you're seeing something well above the surface.

This is just some tropical moisture moving inland. Look elsewhere for Chantal.

It was something to check out today and something that will probably bring some rain to Texas and Mexico. What appeared to be part of a wave axis or perhaps a boundary moved inland out front of the system (as per earlier colorized IR). It definitely had "that" look to it as you saw some spiraling which may or may not have indicated somewhat favorable upper support (I didn't expend any energy checking into that). Whatever it is or isn't, it's also helping fuel moisture through the boundary that's been over Dixie for the last bunch of days.

I also saw the Vortex or LLC and it was inland and not moving offshore so I paid it little attenion.

There is some troughiness in the BOC and most of the models keep that troughiness down there with none of them really developing anything but we should watch this area closely.

Seems like an ULL or something is forming over inland Mexico....shouldnt really help the shear situation for the system (or the flooding situation in Texas for that matter).

Well if this was about 100 miles east it would be something to watch very closely, but it isn't so we'll just get rain in places that we don't need it.

brownsville radar showing a mid level rotation, I say mid level because it's a long ways from radar site hard to say whats at the surface. This blob does seem to have some inflow but it should move NNW.
