latest and the last image is in 415.. we are now in the eclipse..
http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/flt/t1/loop-avn.html
the deeper reds are expanding and wrapping around .. so radar and sat show some potential .. not good for the islands

Indeed. Especially when a model just decides to quit working. You just HAVE to see the next image before retiring for the night. "I'm going to bed as soon as the next image comes out!" Next one comes out, you decide, no foul, and you wait for the next one

On the last frame the eye is probably that round circle above Barbados with a little round circle at 12 high.
I doubt it is still and unimpressive on Barbados now. Closer pass than first thought on weak side. I wish that Barbados guy would update, but he's probably asleep.
IR shows heavy cell over St Lucia now in band. St Lucia getting going I bet!

It reminds me of those movies where the monster comes out of the tv. as soon as it made the turn to hit the US, the system crashed... power out... oops.

Re: HR Dean: For any Island in the Carib that could be affected
Thanks for the loops, Eric!
Hmm, we aren't under a tropical storm WATCH.... or anything.
Really worried about Martinique. Fort de France, a really great city, has over 1/4 million people, and it still looks like Dean will go right over them. A little wobble would be nice, put the worst winds in Martinique Passage!

The status page indicates the model run is fine, it's likely just a problem with the graphics post-processing and web publishing, and probably not with the model itself.

Satellite outage, it gets longer until the Fall solstice in Late September when it'll last about 3 hours.

Anyway, since the NCEP website seems to be having trouble, I found it on the E-Wall. It shows it hit just south of Brownsville, then creep up the Rio Grande River at 180 hours.
