I play tenor sax, and bass guitar (Peavey). I play keyboards
and any other instruments by ear. As far as singing, I will
do only background harmony - I leave singing to the REAL
singers! :D

My gosh Steph, If I didn't know better, I would say that my daughter was writing your posts for you. Her life right now is mirroring your post. Piano, violin for one year, girl scouts. Wow.

Well lets see. I am trained in classical ballet (I turned down a scholarship to the royal academy in london.. LONG story) I did caberet for a few years. I have done more shows on stage than I can even remember the names of, I trained and did examinations with the South African Dramatics society. Did a few years of photographic modeling..

I had serious aspirations of taking up acting as a career.. Then I got me a baby and the rest is history.

oh and I can play the guitar as well as keyboards and piano (I read some music, but mainly play by ear) Those are my abilities in a nutshell

Nice basses, guys and gals...mine was a fretless Rickenbacker, 1974 vintage (Ampeg speakers, of course...but I did have a handy little Peavey "TNT" box as well).

My double bass was an 1870 German "flatback"....handmade, but no signature. Weighed a ton....and could "fill" an auditorium.

I've been singing since I could talk! Since starting school I have been in every choir and musical that one can think of. (I used to be a Soprano now I think I am an alto) During my Senior year of high school, me and some other classmates were given the opportunity to go to Washington DC to represent MS and sing at the Capitol building and several other places. I'm not as good as I used to be...but I can carry a tune in my car and in the shower :D

HurricaneGirl plays bass guitar and is currently working with a band called Slumbertank in Jacksonville with her husband (she got married last Saturday) and they do have a website that is under construction ...

Thanks for the plug SF!! 8-)

Yes, Slumbertank does indeed rock!! This is the funnest band I've ever been in.

I love playing heavy rock especially Metallica.

My husband George is the drummer and together we make one heck of a rythym section.

Well, I can't sing a note; I can't really play any musical instruments (except maybe 2 or 3 simple songs on the piano); and getting up in front of a crowd of people is not something I would ever look forward to. But I have written a few song parodies. In fact, I think I will make a separate post to see what people think about them. 8-)

The only time I sound halfway decent singing is when I sing along with my CD's -- Kenny Rogers and Dottie West make me sound pretty good

For 5 years I played the alto sax in school. I quit last year when I found out I wasn't as good as I thought I was...long story.

Before the sax, I played the piano for about 3 years. I guess I was OK. But I haven't touched a piano in years.

But recently I have taken up the guitar. IMO it's harder than sax and piano, but I'll manage! I've only been taking lessons for a little over a month.
