Considering Puerto Cabezas has been devestated, I think sadly thats not going to be the case.

The front pages headlines of the newspapers from Nicaragua and Honduras are impressive this morning. As the images are too large, I will publish the links to the front pages we hosted in our website.
EL NUEVO DIARIO FROM NICARAGUA - "DISASTER" (has a very good photo of people praying in a church partially destroyed). The paper also mentions that "Puerto Cabezas was destroyed by a supernatural power".

LA PRENSA FROM NICARAGUA - "DEVASTATION"

EL HERALDO FROM HONDURAS - "TEGUCIGALPA UNDER LANDSLIDES ALERT"
http://www.metsul.com/__editor/filemana ... ornal3.jpg
TIEMPO FROM HONDURAS - "72 TO 96 HOURS MORE OF RAIN"

Here is another very useful link to stay up to date on relief efforts:

I forgot to do this in the other thread before it closed (feel free to move it into the end of that thread), but this is for you Felix:
Good riddance - you're probably set to get the dumpster at this rate! Have fun with your brother Dean and others in the retirement home and don't let your successor do the same!

Wikipedia is now reporting 9 dead, but 2 appear to be indirect
so we can assume that the "confirmed" death toll is now 7 and almost certainly will be a lot higher

Well, Wikipedia isn't a breaking news source, so it's not exactly reporting anything; check the source used for the death toll instead.

I wouldn't be so sure about that statement. The other day I was checking Felix before 11 AM and they had already posted the 11 AM advisory. There seems to be a lot of people working to keep the site as up to the minute as possible.

And hence all the more uncertain you should be about the data. Vandalism is common in "breaking story" articles.
Back on-topic though.

Re: Felix Aftermath in CentralAmerica
The photos of damage that I've seen in Puerto Cabezas indicate that they clearly missed the brunt of the storm. As bad as it is for those people there it could have been umimaginably worse. If the cat 5 winds hit there, most of the city would be unrecognizable.

I suspect the disaster is still in the "happening" stage....it ain't over yet. Imagine the flooding. Possibly still in the survival mode.

Several of the deaths don't have a cause listed and may also be indirect (but treating as direct until the cause is known, if it is)

So can we put to the missing:
150 people
PLUS
the four vessels reported this morning

Exactly. We won't know for several days about how bad the flooding and mudslides were inland. They're talking about 25 inches of rain in some places.
Let's hope for a miracle. That's what it'll take to keep the casualties down, I'm afraid.
